Hakone region in Japan is specialized in yosegizaiku technique which consists of creating wooden mosaic . For 200 years, it is worlwide recognised as a Japanese craftmanship specialty. Since 2003 Ota Mokko company créâtes material and finished products using this techniques.


Technique: The wood is cut in the shape of blocks before giving the final shape, then several varieties of naturally colored timber are assembled to form a surface of less than 1 mm thick. This surface can then be bonded as a sheet on objects of various shapes.
